Well I hope the few cold days have not made you hang up your favorite blaster for the season. SJIDPA has plans to get the blood pumping again with some stages that are sure to be serious fun with lots of trigger time. Now is the time to bring your buddy or "Mr I can do it all" that we all know and bring them out for some IDPA.
Have you ever wondered what would you would do if a group of bad guys with 2 killer attack dogs tried to visit you wile you were grilling in your back yard? Well if you come out sat you will get the chance to see if you got what it takes to save the day and those nice steaks you got grilling.
Sign up starts at 8:30 and hammer down at 9:00am back on the action range. New shooters will get a safety bref and we will go over all the stages, and help you get the most out of your experience.
We will also have the famous "Triple Nickle" stage so come out and see if you can make the 5 Second mark.

Hello,
This Sat. we will be holding our SJIDPA match with a little twist. We will be having a Defensive Multi Gun or 3 Gun Fun match. This match will include a shotgun, rifle and pistol using IDPA scoring. All shooters need to bring in addition to there normal regular gear, a shotgun and semi auto rifle (22lr is ok). You will also need 3-5 rds of slugs or buckshot, about 20 rds of birdshot any size and 50 rds of your rifle ammo. I will have a few guns to use if you need to, but please if you can bring the ammo (12gauge,.223 or 9mm) if you can. If not I will have to charge you and we will only have enough for a few people. This will be a fun and challenging match designed to test all your skills. Safety will be number 1 and we can not have any unsafe gun handling. As always we welcome new shooter and offer a safety briefing before each match. If you have any questions please contact me at

Hello All,
We will be having our match on Sat the 13th. It looks like it is going to be a super day for IDPA. We will have our usual match with a little twist. I do have some prizes left over from our fundraiser match. So bring a few dollars and win some prizes and help out our club get new equipment. As usual we will have sign ups at 8:30 and hammer down at 9:00. Hope to see you all there. Stay Safe.
Update,
We were able to raise enough money to buy Insurance for SJIDPA from the NRA. I would like to thank everyone that helped out, it was very hot but as a group we all pulled together and made it work. |

Our July 9th match will be held as usual at the South Jersey Shooting Club.
The match is also a fundraiser to raise money for insurance to enable us to continue to provide our monthly shoots. There will be a raffle with an extensive prize table. Prizes include a family membership at South Jersey Shooting Club valued at $350, a three month Karate class with uniform at Karate Unlimited valued at $250, and many other prizes.
We will have Hot Dogs and drinks available, so come hungry.
It's getting hot, and our range is hotter yet, so come prepared. Registration is at 0830 with safety briefing and hammer down at 0900. For those who are new to IDPA we do a new shooter briefing before the shoot and a demonstration of each stage. When you come up to the firing line we will make sure you understand what you need to do. If you are new, it's best to forget about time to start with and shoot the stage deliberately, emphasizing accuracy and safe movement. You will be maneuvering around barricades and such as well as shooting on the move, so muzzle awareness is important - no matter what direction you are moving, the muzzle stays pointed downrange.
You can download the IDPA rulebook at http://www.idpa.com/Documents/IDPARuleBook2005.pdf We run a cold range with a Safe gun handling area to uncase and holster your firearm. It will remain empty and holstered until you come to the firing line and are instructed to "load and make ready". Magazines can be loaded at any time. Match fees are $20 for IDPA and/or SJSC members; $25 for nonmembers. We would like to thank our sponsers for their support: See our Poster: https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/ln_db1YZFeMJvwxhzgMgEg?feat=directlink
See you at the range. Rob Palmer |

Hello, and welcome to SJIDPA's April Classifier Match for 2011 this Saturday the 9th. We are planning for a good turnout so I would like to help you to be prepared for the match, so everything runs smoothly and in a timely fashion. This match is open to everyone, but you must be an IDPA member to have your official classification.
The course is 90rds of ammo and is in 3 strings of fire. Each string of fire will be 30rds. Make sure that you have your mags or speed loaders ready. I most cases you can load your mags to full capacity, but on string 1 and 2 you will need to start certain number of rounds in the gun. We will explain this to you. There are no make up shots so make all you hits count the first time. You also do not have to ware concealment.
We have seen a lot of new shooter's entering into IDPA lately and are very glade to see everyone come out. Safety is main goal, and the SO's are there to help. So please ask all the questions you want, but when you are at the line, make sure to listen to the Safety officer's commands. They are paramount to your safety and ours.
Thank you
